Diamond Magnetometry: In the Service of Chemistry
Abstract:
In my group we are using the nitrogen-vacancy center in diamond as a magnetic sensor for the study of molecules, starting from reactions and ultimately obtaining structural and functional information. In this seminar I will introduce the physics and working principle of our sensor. Then, I will present the progress we have made in the last year in the lab in the context of the grand vision for this instrument. Finally, I will present one of our main research questions and explain why this tool is the most suitable to answer it.
