"Status of Cosmic Inflation"

Abstract:
Inflation, a period of accelerated expansion just after the Big Bang is a corner stone of modern Cosmology. Recent Cosmic Microwave Background observations have largely verified the basic inflationary predictions.
I will discuss the motivation for considering Inflation, the paradigm’s predictions and the current observational status. I will specify some open problems regarding Inflation and finally some recent work I have done in that context.
