The Human Factors Engineering Laboratory advances research into human interactions with technology, systems, and environments.

Human Factors Engineering Laboratory

The Lab strives to design products, systems, and environments that align with users’ capabilities, thereby enhancing performance, productivity, safety, and satisfaction.

The Lab’s core focuses include ergonomics, usability, cognitive processes, and safety. Special emphasis is given to improving transportation systems, workplace design, and overall user experiences. Research efforts are particularly directed at comprehending road users’ hazard- and risk-perception skills, situation awareness, and traffic safety, emphasizing human–machine interactions through the use of eye-tracking technologies.

By emphasizing interdisciplinary collaborations, the Lab aims to formulate innovative solutions to contemporary challenges, contributing to the creation of safer, more intuitive systems suitable for increasingly complex environments.
