Organizations today recognize learning as a strategic driver of growth. Across sectors, dedicated departments employ specialized practitioners who develop and implement instructional technologies for workforce development and customer education.
The expertise required for this work, in instructional design, learning systems, and educational technology, has emerged as a distinct professional field demanding specialized knowledge and ongoing skill development.
First and only program of its kind
As early as 2004, HIT identified a powerful market shift: organizations needed smarter, more effective ways to educate employees and customers. We responded by founding the Faculty of Instructional Technologies, creating a new academic discipline that converges learning and training, design, and technological development.
HIT’s B.A. in Instructional Technologies is the first and only program of its kind in Israel, and among few worldwide.
Practical, industry-driven, and continuously evolving, it integrates three core clusters: Instructional Design, User Experience and User Interface Design, and Technology Development. These are taught innovatively to reflect the transformative shifts of the AI era, preparing graduates to lead learning innovation in tomorrow’s organizations.
In their final year, students take on complex real-world challenges posed by organizations across diverse sectors. Working in teams and supervised by faculty, they design and build original learning and training solutions that address genuine industry needs. Year after year, leading companies bring their unsolved instructional challenges to our students, proving their confidence in the program’s excellent and widespread reputation.
Our research activities are supported by two advanced laboratories: the User Experience & Eye-Tracking Lab, which enables teams to transform concepts and prototypes into state-of-the-art solutions; and the AI Lab, which facilitates the integration of generative AI, machine learning, and data-driven methods into real-world organizational settings.
For outstanding, high-achieving students, the program offers a unique technology-focused Direct Track, enabling them to complete both their B.A. and MA degrees in just four years.
Our alumni are in high demand in the Israeli marketplace, securing employment immediately upon graduation.
Rising to leading positions in prominent companies and institutions, they pioneer next-generation AI-powered learning solutions in their respective organizations.
Many of our faculty members are recognized nationally and internationally for their academic research in fields central to our discipline. Others hold senior positions in industry, bringing cutting-edge trends, technological advances, and gloB.A.l perspectives into the classroom. Deeply dedicated to the mission of teaching, they collectively promote the program’s excellence, innovation, and impact.
Our faculty members and students are engaged in extensive research activities, collaborating with leading institutions in Israel and worldwide, responding to national and international calls, presenting their work at major conferences, and publishing papers in high-impact scientific journals.
