Launched in the mid-1950’s and rapidly growing ever since, the discipline of Computer Science is critical for the advancement of humanity in the coming decades. Today’s digital era and Age of AI call for well-trained computer science experts everywhere, in all industries and endeavors.

M.Sc. in Computer Science

The 2-year M.Sc. program at HIT (with or without a thesis) provides students with the tools they need to meet today’s technological challenges head on – building solid foundations for advancement in the career of their choice, whether in industry or academia.

The program offers a choice of tracks:

  • M.Sc. Research track with a thesis – for students who seek a future in innovation and R&D centers or intend to pursue a PhD. Guided by academic supervisors, the students focus on a chosen field, aiming to break new ground through innovative research.
  • M.Sc. without a thesis – for students who seek a career in industry and wish to acquire broad knowledge and skills for complex technological projects. These students carry out final projects in collaboration with industrial partners.
  • Direct track to M.Sc. – for outstanding undergraduates

Opportunity for All

Targeting students who already hold a BSc and work in the daytime, the M.Sc. is an evening program, enabling participants to attend classes and develop their capabilities.

Fields of Study & Research Include

Applied algorithms, big data and data analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, computational geometry, robotics, networks, genetic algorithms, cryptography, computerized vision and image processing, autonomic transportation, natural language processing (NLP), bioinformatics, financial mathematics, software and hardware verification, and more…

Research

Faculty members and M.Sc. (with a thesis) students at the School of Computer Science engage in advanced research on a vast variety of topics, often collaborating with other academic and research institutions, public organizations and corporations. Our researchers win competitive grants, publish papers in leading journals, and present their work at international conferences.
