VHDL Laboratory

The laboratory is located in Room 508/1 and includes thirteen computer stations.

In this laboratory the student becomes acquainted with and learns to design computer components using VHDL. Students get a basic understanding of and practical knowledge in hardware programming and simulation, as taught in the "Hardware description using VHDL" course.

In this laboratory the student designs, simulates and implements simple circuits as registers, counters, adders, memory, ALU, UART and also complex circuits as microprocessors.

The laboratory is based on ALTERA/TERASIC DE-2 Development and Educational Boards with Quartus II, Altera Modelsim and NIOS II software.
