Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Policy

Holon Institute of Technology believes that diversity, equality, and inclusion are essential principles for the success of Israeli society. Academia, as a leading factor in the training of future leaders, is obligated to promote these principles among students, researchers, academic staff, and employees.

HIT believes that:

Diversity, equality, and inclusion are basic principles of a democratic, ethical society.

Diversity, equality, and inclusion are essential for the future of academia, and a diverse academy must be created, one that allows every person, regardless of ethnic origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic, to fulfill his or her academic potential and succeed.

Academic diversity is important because it allows us to learn and understand the world manner more comprehensively. When we meet people from different backgrounds, we learn about new opinions, cultures, and traditions. It broadens our horizons and helps us develop critical and open-minded thinking.

Academic equality is important because it affords everyone the best opportunities to succeed. When we provide equal opportunities to every person, we enable them to reach their potential and contribute to society.

We are committed to promoting these values to create a healthy, nurturing learning and working environment, where everyone can succeed.

To this end, we actively seek to:

  • Promote diversity in the ethnic, religious, gender, mental, physical, and social spheres among students, researchers, academic staff, and employees.
  • Create an inclusive academic environment that allows every person to succeed, regardless of his or her background.
  • Encourage the recruitment of students, researchers, academic staff, and employees from diverse backgrounds.
  • Develop curricula and academic activities that encourage critical thinking on issues of diversity, equality and inclusion.
  • Establish committees and forums dedicated to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion in academia.

We believe that by implementing these steps, we can create a more diverse, equal, and inclusive academic community.
