During the visit, HIT's president discussed the international activity in the university and the possibilities of connecting with HIT in the fields of Sciences, Engineering, Management and E-learning.

Prof. Eduard Yakubov, President of HIT visited The Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) in Moscow following an invitation from  its Rector, prof. V. Filippov.

The funding presented to HIT is targeted at a prestigious international project which is about to change the way Math is taught in the first year of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering studies. The project is led by Dr. Nissim Harel from the Computer Science Dept., and is shared by 16 additional  academic institutions from Denmark, Spain, Sweden, Austria, the  Czech Republic, Macedonia,Greece and Uzbekistan.

H.E. Eduard Shapira, Israel's Ambassador to Uzbekistan, visited HIT officially for the first time. The Ambassador's visit followed the ongoing fruitful collaboration that exists between HIT Uzbek government bodies and leading academic institutions in Uzbekistan.

The Council for Higher Education (CHE) actively promotes and supports the internationalization of Israeli Academic Institutions. Dedicated to raising the academic level and competitiveness of the Israeli academia in the global academic scene, the CHE co-finances institutions of higher education in the process of building and strengthening their international position.

Prof. Kanzieper's grants  will provide funding for his research program

Professor Amnon Fruchtman from the Physics department of the Faculty of Science won a NSF-BSF research grant, together with colleagues from the Weizmann Institute of Science and from Princeton University. The grant will support an on-going collaborative research on hydrodynamic compression of turbulent plasma.  The NSF-BSF grant program is jointly funded by the US National Science Foundation (NSF) and the US-Israel Binational Science Foundation (BSF).

The Vice President for R&D, Dr. Kiss, was accompanied by Ms. Marianna Török, Lecturer at METU Institute of Business Studies, Mr. Szabolcs Szolnoki, Diplomat for Scientific and Technological Affairs, Embassy of Hungary in Tel Aviv and Ms. Réka Tamás, Assistant - Trade and Science Diplomacy Section, Embassy of Hungary in Tel Aviv.

The minister was accompanied by Ms. Barbara Sušnik - Ambassador of Slovenia to Israel; Ms. Tatjana Buzeti - Directorate of Long-term Care, Slovenia, Mr. Blaž Masle - Deputy Head of Mission, Slovenian Embassy in Israel.
