Internationalization is a top strategic priority of HIT. As such, the institute calls on all our lecturers, researchers, and administrative staff to develop new collaborations and strengthen ongoing collaborations with European colleagues under the framework of the Erasmus+ program and other international collaborations worldwide.

The overriding goal is to develop joint academic programs and scientific collaborations with leading academic institutions and to create mutual opportunities for staff to learn and improve working methods and techniques.

HIT’s International Office is a committed advocate of the Erasmus+ program, enabling visits to counterparts and hosting opportunities to promote innovation and the exchange of good practices.

KEY ACTION 1 (KA1) – LEARNING MOBILITY OF INDIVIDUALS

APPLICATION PROCESS:

Applying for staff and student mobility grants provides an opportunity not only to sustain existing collaborations but also to establish new partnerships. Many European institutions are interested in creating new collaborations that will widen and deepen the scope of their research activities.
The following steps are required: Contact the international office in order to check the status of the current agreement status of the partner.

  • If there is no existing agreement, please contact your peer(s) from a European Institute directly.
  • Check with your colleague that his/her home institute functions in accordance with the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE).
  • Prepare a working plan for the required actions: teaching and/or training and/or student exchange.
  • Send the name of the institution you wish to partner with to the HIT International Office along with a concise description of up to one paragraph on the potential European partner institution and up to one paragraph describing the work plan.
  • HIT’s International Office must approve the application request, as mentioned above.
  • Important: The application form is to be filled in only by the European partner institution. However, we strongly recommend being actively involved in the redaction of the “Quality Questions”, for it is critical to the success of the application.

NOTICE:

  • It is important to coordinate expectations with the European partner regarding the number and the professional profile of the participants.
  • The proposal should include visits from the European Institution to HIT and vice versa.
  • The mobility application is based on the selection criteria, as defined in the Quality Questions of your application.
