Prof. Michaela (Miky) Ronen, beloved Dean of the Faculty of Instructional Technologies at HIT, passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Prof. Ronen was a wonderful and admired mentor, academic leader and devoted researcher.
This is a great loss for the Faculty of Instructional Technologies and and for the entire institution. Prof. Ronen will be held in our hearts and memories forever.

Prof. Eduard Yakubov, President of HIT:
I've met Miky 25 years ago, when I've joined HIT.
A certain special meeting at the Council of Higher Education comes to my mind, which we both attended and where Miky managed to get the Council's approval for her revolutionary program in Instructional Technologies. Not only did she receive all the approvals needed to open the department, which later became the Faculty, but she even invented the term "Instructional Technologies" which had become a synonym for innovation and leadership in Israel and abroad. Under Miky's guidance the Faculty had quickly become a central stage for Instructional Technologies' studies and research, which made HIT sought after by academy and industry specialists from Israel and abroad.
Miky was caring and concerned about each and every student and staff member at her faculty. They’ve all admired her greatly.
We've lost an admirable person, with a great vision and sincere desire to promote and advance education in the modern world.
She will be greatly missed by all of us.
