“DEETECHTING” Innovation

Dr. Michael Winokur, Prof. Arriel Benis, and Dr. Dan Kohen-Vacs become “DEETECHTIVE” in new EU grant for ”Deep Tech Talents – Innovation & Entrepreneurship Support”.

It was only just a few months ago that a major grant was received by senior academics from the EU, together with a consortium of European universities and industry, for Project Ideation. The grant called for increasing the entrepreneurial and innovative capabilities of higher education institutions (HEI’s) and increasing their influence on the social and economic systems surrounding them.

In furtherance of similar goals and objectives, the EU has just granted an additional 750,000 Euro to HIT, and its partners Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (Poland), Universita degli Studi di Genova (Italy), EPF Engineering School (France), Centria University of Applied Sciences (Finland) as well as one business support organization, the Institute of Technology Transfer (Poland), for the DEETECHTIVE project.

The grant aims to transform each participating HEI into a hub of interest and influence, significantly bolstering their entrepreneurial and innovation capacity within their respective ecosystems. DEETECHTIVE employs a unique approach, emphasizing training programs focused on deep tech, open innovation, sharing economy and social product development as key features of the Industry 4.0 Era.

HIT’s distinguished and interdisciplinary team of researchers – Dr. Michael Winokur from the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Technology Management, Prof. Arriel Benis from the Department of Digital Medical Technologies, and Dr. Dan Kohen-Vacs from the Faculty of Instructional Technologies - will actively co-lead HIT’s participation in this project. By leveraging the diverse expertise within HIT and fostering strong collaboration with our European partners, the DEETECHTIVE project will provide an exceptional opportunity to promote innovation and engage students in cutting-edge technologies.
