What is LSSD?
-
Large Scale Sudden Disasters (in short, LSSD) are events that take place without warning and may cause great damage to human beings and their environment.
-
LSSDs arise from a variety of damage generators that can exist either individually or together (at the same moment or one after the other).
Damage generators can be natural (earthquakes, tsunamis, land-slides) man-made, including terror and war or critical infrastructure failures (such as in the electricity supply system).
