Abstract:
Recent developments in thin-film-fabrication technology have enabled the deposition of newly designed and well controlled oxide interfaces. These interfaces can have properties which are significantly different from their constituent materials.

An electronic reconstruction occurring at the interfaces may be at the origin of these phenomena. Correlated electrons in oxide interfaces result in a variety of properties, such as metal-insulator transition, superconductivity, ferroelectricity and magnetism.

In my talk I will describe recent developments in correlated oxide interfaces. I will also discuss our new results and explanation for the transport properties and superconductivity in SrTiO3 based heterostructures. Finally, I will describe our new methods for implementation of oxide interfaces for mesoscopic structures such as quantum wires and a quantum dots from such interfaces.
