The first day of the academic year had opened with a joint workshop for students from the Industrial Design department at HIT headed by Luka Or and students from the University of Applied Sciences in Salzburg, Austria. The Austrian students were accompanied by Prof. Mag.Dr. Gunther Grall (FH Vice Rector) and Mr. Michael Ebner from the Faculty of Design.

Mr. Yermek Katrenov The Economic-commercial Attaché in the embassy of Kazakhstan in Israel visited Hit as preparation to the future visit of the Kazakh minister of Education and Sciences, Mr. Yerlan Sagadiev, in HIT.

Representatives from the Politehnica University Timisoara, Romania visited HIT for the first time and have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with HIT regarding collaboration in the field of Medical Informatics between both institutions.

The agreement was signed during a scientific conference held in Tashkent headed by Prof. Eduard Yakubov President of HIT.

The Ambassador was accompanied by Dr. Rachel Levy Drummer, Secretary of Academic Affairs at Bar Ilan university.

On October 6, the first Uzbek-Israeli scientific conference will take place in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. The conference, entitled Contemporary Problems in Mathematics and Physics, will bring together more than 60 scientists from the two countries.

Yael Avni from MADE lab at HIT were invited to take part in the 11th International Convention on Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology. Yael was invited to present two papers published at the conference which took place in Kobe, Japan.

The first phase of a new, groundbreaking study in the Research Laboratory "Non Invasive Hybrid Machine Interface" at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering has recently been completed. The research was carried out by the head of the laboratory, Dr. Ronen Sosnik and the students Omer Ben Tzur and Inora Valizada, who completed their final project at the lab and graduated with honors.

The annual Design Supporters' event was held at the Faculty of Design with HIT's members of the Board of Trustees chaired by Mr. Pinchas (Pini) Cohen, members of the executive committee and many guests, who have enjoyed mingling and listening to a musical trio.
