Prof. Eduard Yakubov invited to Israel's 70th Independence Day celebrations at the UN

During the visit, the work was carried out very intensively on several academic and social objectives:
Participation in Israel's 70th Independence Day celebration in Unaited Nations (UN); To Sign an MoU between MYIT and HIT;  Meetings to establish future cooperation between St. John's University and William Paterson University of New Jersey (WPUNJ);  Studying the experience of colleagues through participation in the curriculum at St. John's University; Meetings with potential donors and discussing ideas related to the future development of the HIT.

During his visit to the USA in April, Prof. Eduard Yakubov, President of HIT, was invited by Mr. Danny Danon, Israel's Permanent Representative to the UN and Mr. Noy Berger, Personal Advisor to the Israeli Ambassador in the USA, to attend the unique solo exhibition of Mr. Nevo Afek, only 17 years old artist, in honor of Israel's 70th Independence Day, organized by the Permanent Mission of Israel to the UN, under the title “Never Give Up”.
The exhibition received wide international recognition and Mr. Afek was warmly invited to HIT.


Mr. Danny Danon and Prof. Eduard Yakubov have agreed to organize a special HIT exhibition at the Israeli Permanent Representative in the UN. The exhibition will include HIT's students' final projects.

 

 

An important part of the visit was signing the MoU between NYIT – New York Institute of Technology and HIT on April 24, 2018.

Prof. Eduard Yakubov was warmly hosted by Henry C. “Hank” Foley, Ph.D., President of New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), Nada Anid, Ph.D., Dean of NYIT's School of Engineering and Computing Sciences, Huanying (Helen) Gu Associate Professor Dr.of Computer Science and Marta Panero Ph. D., Director, Strategic Partnerships and International Trade Specialist Mrs. Marisel Trespalacios of the U.S. Commercial Service Long Island.

 

The President of the NYIT, welcomed the agreement, and said that: “Our institutes have many common characteristics and future goals, which is a prerequisite for successful cooperation”.

 

At the signing ceremony, HIT's President said : “It is a great honor to sign this MoU. Signing the MOU represents a culmination of dedication and commitment of both Institutes to foster partnership that will increase collaboration and enhance educational outcomes for our students, academic and administrative staff. We look forward to this opportunity to start fruitful work with New York Institute of Technology (NYIT)”.

Very successful was meeting with Associate Provost of Global Studies, Mr. Matthew Pucciarelli and Prof. Alexander Katz from St. John's University. Preliminary talks have begun on possible future cooperation.

Founded in 1870, the St. John's University was established by the Vincentians at the request of the first Bishop of Brooklyn to provide higher education to a growing immigrant population. St. John's University supports more than 20,000 students and over 178,000 alumni from over 100 programs of study in Business, Education, Health Sciences, Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Professional Studies.


Prof. Eduard Yakubov also took part of important seminar organized by St. John's University.

 


The meeting with high-level representatives from the University of New Jersey (WPUNJ) was also very productive. WPUNJ ranked as one of the best academic design schools in the United States. The main objective of the meeting was to provide HIT students with access to the wide spectrum of Master Programs offered by WPUNJ.


Ideas about the future development of the HIT were discussed during the several meetings with potential donors.
We may conclude that Prof. Eduard Yakubov, President of HIT, visit to the USA, was with huge importance and with many achievements.
