Officials from Tashkent, Uzbekistan visited HIT

The delegation was led by H.E. Ambassador of Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. Said Rustamov and its members were: Deputy Mayor of Tashkent Mr. Davron Khidoyatov, Head of Foreign Economic International Relations department of Tashkent city municipality - Mr. Diyor Pulatov and Head of Yashnobod district, Tashkent - Mr. Khodjiakbar Tillashaykhov

The delegation at HIT

The purpose of the visit was to observe and study the process that takes place in the city of Holon, in the municipal areas and city services such as electricity, water, roads and infrastructure, towards becoming a "Smart City".

The guests were shown various areas in Holon that are in different stages of development and building and were given detailed information regarding all aspects of building and developing it as a "Smart City".

Prof. Eduard Yakubov, President of HIT, accompanied the guests in their visit to the Azrieli Holon Business Park, where they have met with its manager, Mr. Eyal Iohan, and have visited "Perion Network Ltd." In Holon.

During their visit at HIT the delegation's members visited some research labs and were given detailed explanations about the academic and research work that is being done in them.

The delegation was then welcomed in the Municipality of Holon by Mr. Motti Sasson, Mayor of Holon and his deputy, and were given a presentation of the development of Holon as a "Smart City" by Mr. Erez Eli, Municipal Operations Manager. This meeting included also Mr. Samuel Goldberg, HIT's CEO and Mr. Ilya Levy, In charge of special projects at HIT's president's office.

Upon termination of the visit it was agreed, that during the future visit of HIT's delegation in Tashkent, there will be a meeting held in Tashkent Municipality in order to further understand how to practically implement the decisions that were made during this visit in Israel, and to think of other creative ways to further strengthen and develop the ties between HIT, the city of Holon and the city of Tashkent
