On November 27th 2019, an official Austrian delegation visited HIT for the first time. The delegation, headed by Mag. Thomas Stelzer, Governor of Upper Austria, H.E. Ms. Hannah Liko, Ambassador of Austria to Israel and Dr. Gerald Reisinger, President, University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria
(FF OÖ), was marked by the signature of a new MoU between HIT and FF OÖ.

HIT and FF OÖ have similar Faculties and Departments; similar fields of research and interest. As a result, in August 2019, FF OÖ contacted the Commercial Section of the Austrian Embassy in Israel to initiate a dialogue with HIT's International Office. Two months later, Prof. Dr. Andreas Zehetner, Vice President International Affairs at FF OÖ, attended HIT's International Week. As a result of this successful first contact, HIT had yesterday the honor to host an Austrian political delegation headed by Mag. Thomas Stelzer, Governor of Upper Austria, H.E. Ms. Hannah Liko, Ambassador of Austria to Israel and Dr. Gerald Reisinger, President of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. Both institutions formalized their recent partnership with the signature of an MoU and discussed the next concrete steps toward joint collaboration.

In line with Dr. Barkan's introduction, Mag. Thomas Stelzer stressed the fact that both institutions share similar fields of research and common fields of interest. On top of it, he highlighted the opportunity such a visit represents to tighten and deepen this engagement; in parallel to the tightening and strengthening of HIT's already well-established collaborations with other Austrian academic institutions.

Dr. Gerald Reisinger, President of FF OÖ, thus extended an invitation to HIT's representatives to visit Upper Austria; stating their venue would be another great opportunity for both institutions to broaden their collaboration.
