Lifetime Achievement Award to Mrs. Adina Bar Shalom at 2018 Graduation Ceremony

 

As traditional part of the graduation ceremony, a Lifetime Achievement Award and Honorary Degrees were presented to key figures in Israeli academy, society and industry.

An excerpt from the committee's justification for awarding the Lifetime Achievement Award to Mrs. Adina Bar Shalom
"Mrs. Bar Shalom’s lifelong social activities and her relentless efforts to bring together all sectors of Israeli society, have enabled the Orthodox community to gain access to higher education, thus generating a significant change in the Orthodox sector in particular and in Israeli society as a whole.
Her motto – "Where there's a will there's a way" – reflects HIT's vision to make higher technological and scientific education accessible to all sectors of Israeli society, while striving for social responsibility and responsible citizenship".

Two Honorary Degrees were presented as well:

 

An Honorary Degree was presented to Dr. Ilan Goldfajn, President of the Central Bank of Brazil.

An excerpt from the committee's justification for awarding the Honorary Degree to Dr. Goldfajn:

"Dr.Goldfajn is a man of vision and action, and a strong supporter of investment in technological education in schools already at the elementary level, as a key strategy in developing hi-tech and industrial leaders.
His personal vision reflects HIT's vision, which encourages technological education, and whose major goal is making higher education accessible to all by establishing advanced teaching platforms and by promoting multidisciplinary applied research, as well as by creating a framework for advancing outstanding teenagers".


An Honorary Degree was presented to Mr. Israel Mazin,
Chairman owner of Gama Corp. and Shadow Corp. and founder of Mamco Corp.

An excerpt from the committee's justification for awarding the Honorary Degree to Mr. Mazin.
"Mr. Mazin is an Israeli entrepreneur who has been active in the international technology market for many years, founding start-up ventures that have placed Israel in the forefront of technology.
His wide range of activities reflects HIT's vision, which puts great emphasis on training graduates who are capable of facing the ever changing technological challenges and contributing to the development of Israel's industry and elite technologies, using creative thinking, entrepreneurship and research".
