The first formal delegation from Kazakhstan visited HIT

 

The purpose of the visit was to explore and study the ways in which HIT manages to incorporate innovation into its studies and integrates it into its ties with the industry.

The delegation included:

Prof. Eduard Yakubov overviewed HIT and the academic and research activities that take place here.
Dr. Refael Barkan Head of Research, Innovation and International Ventures Authority at HIT overviewed the innovative approach of HIT including the new HandZone Acceleration program in Future HIT Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center. The main focus of the speech was the role of the researchs' cross disciplinary approach to tackle the main challenges that are facing the industry, NGO's, hospitals and medical services and how HIT can play a significant role in the future cooperation between the countries.

 

The delegation members said that the cooperation between academy and industry is the main interest of the government and that the parties involved will perform as a bridge in assuming these strategies in establishing start-up companies.

 

The delegates visited HIT's "Vitrina Gallery" and the Faculty of Design's graduate's exhibition, the Robotics Lab headed by Dr. Yaakov Damatov and were given a review by Mr. Mark Israel from the Faculty of Sciences about GIS Systems and Academy-Industry Projects. They were impressed by the projects which reflect the strong synergy between academy, industry and innovative approach.
