Marketing Strategy for Social Organizations

Marketing strategy is a crucial tool for any business, including social organizations who do not depend solely on donations but have their own profit unit. But how do we build a marketing plan for organizations that promote both social causes and business goals? In this practical course we learn how to do it, implementing theoretical knowledge by creating a marketing plan for specific social organizations that we will work with. Students in this course work with their chosen social organization guided by mentors – marketing experts from the industry, building together a workable marketing plan. This way students gain real-life experience in marketing, along with the opportunity to contribute to the growth of social organizations.

In 2020-21 one of our teams worked with ‘Social Space TLV’, a social organization opened at the location where the infamous Pussycat strip club had operated. Social Space TLV is home for discussion and social activism in gender equality and empowering women.

Students, mentors and representatives of social organizations visited Social Space TLV for a powerful experience that initiated a discussion on social change.
