User Experience Lab

Head: Hayley Weigelt-Marom, Ph.D.

The unique User Experience Lab, opened in March 2020, investigates the user experience, learning processes, and effectiveness of human-computer interactions in various educational technology tools such as apps, tutorials and websites. The lab includes an experiment room offering an acoustic environment fully equipped with state-of-the-art cameras and speakers, and an eye-tracking device (Tobii pro-lab 1200), alongside a control and study room.

Thanks to the interdisciplinary nature of its team (e.g., experts in both instructional and assistive technologies) the lab is able to conduct studies across the relevant domains, addressing diverse populations that are heterogeneous in terms of age, demographic background, digital literacy, and sensory-motor functions.

The User Experience Lab supports the educational efforts of both our B.A. and M.A. programs, and serves relevant research across the HIT campus. In addition, we aim to establish  collaborations with other academic institutions and technological industries both in Israel and worldwide.
