782 HIT graduates received their diplomas in a grand ceremony

 
HIT's 2017 Graduation Ceremony took place on June 7th, 2017 at the Holon Toto Hall, where 782 graduates received their B.A and Master's diplomas.

In front of 2800 guests, as well as HIT's Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Pinchas (Pini) Cohen and the Board of Trustees members, Prof. Eduard Yakubov, President of HIT, Mr. Shmuel Goldberg HIT's CEO, Prof. Motti Haridim and Prof. David Shoikhet, Vice Presidents, Holon's Mayor Mr. Motti Sasson, academic and administrative staff and of course the graduates and their families.

During the ceremony, Prof. Eduard Yakubov, President of HIT, also awarded Lifetime Achievement Award to Rabbi Israel Meir Lau, and Honorary Degrees to Prof. Nili Cohen and Mr. Yair Hamburger.

Prof. Yakubov said in his speech that the higher education system in Israel and abroad is faced now with new and complex challenges. "We are facing these challenges with our creative thinking, team work and multidisciplinary approach. HIT continues to be an outstanding scientific-technological academic institution, unique in Israel's higher education system, which combines top quality, dynamic academic teaching, with applied research and development in close collaboration with the industry for the benefit of all segments of Israeli society".

Timor Nissim and Yarden Bareket, graduates of the Faculty of Instructional Technologies said that being an HIT graduate means that the best tools we've received here are not only academic but also have to do with social and personal values and being qualified to face the world as a grown educated human being. The ability to take personal and social responsibility is something that we've acquired here".

Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Pinchas (Pini) Cohen congratulated the graduates and said that their strong will and determination is the key to their future. "I urge you to continue to delve deeper into what you've learned here, and continue to strive to excellence". 

The Mayor of Holon, Mr. Motti Sasson praised the long term collaboration between HIT and the city of Holon and said that one of the best emblems of a city is a respectable academic institution and HIT is the pride of the city.
