H. E. Said Rustamov - new Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Israel, visited HIT

 

The new Ambassador was accompanied by Mr. Murod Gulyamov - Second Secretary, Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Prof. Avaz Marakhimov – Rector of the National University of Uzbekistan (NUUZ) and Mr. Botirov Golibjon – Director at NUUZ.

Mr. Rustamov's visit to HIT was his first stop after landing in Israel. He was warmly welcomed by Prof. Eduard Yakubov , President of HIT, Prof. David Shoikhet , Vice President for Academic Affairs, Mr. Samuel Goldberg , CEO and Mrs. Tony Levy – External Relations Officer.

Prof. Yakubov said in his greeting speech, that he is honored to welcome the new ambassador to HIT and that he feels deeply privileged that the ambassador chose HIT as his first stop in Israel. He said also that he feels confident that the strong and on-going academic ties between HIT and leading academic institutions in Uzbekistan, will continue to develop and expand for the benefit of the students and both countries.

The guests visited some of HIT's research and study labs and were shown the final project of Anat Komarowsky, from the faculty of Design who had created an online book that facilitates 13 principles from Euclid's "The Elements" through animation and movement. (The project on YouTube)

Ambassador Rustamov said that he is moved by the warm welcome and that he is looking forward to begin his term in Israel. He said that he is certain that the academic collaboration between HIT and leading institutions in Uzbekistan will contribute to the development and elevation of the strong ties between both countries.

 

The delegation visited some of HIT's research and study labs and were given detailed information about the various and diverse activities that take place in HIT.
