Ms. Dana Azrieli, CEO of the Azrieli Group, and Ms. Offi Zisser, CEO of the Azrieli Foundation Israel, visited HIT – Holon Institute of Technology, to discuss ideas for collaboration between the foundation and HIT in several different fields – academia, research, business and community involvement.

Azrieli Group is a major player at both the national and the local levels, in both retailing and business in general, especially since the recent establishment of the Azrieli Center in East Holon – one of the city's largest business and industry centers. The Center hosts a large number of the leading technological companies on the market, some of which have had direct collaborative relationships with HIT, as part of HIT's vision of training and lodging its graduates in the hi-tech industry, for the benefit of the economy and society.

On the part of HIT, the meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Pinchas (Pini) Cohen; HIT's president, Prof. Eduard Yakubov; and HIT's vice presidents, deans and faculty members, who represented a broad spectrum of study fields and R&D activities ongoing at HIT, and in particular possible interfaces with the Azrieli Group and the Azrieli Foundation, such as making higher education accessible, expanding support for community and town, and intensifying relations with business.

The representatives from HIT and Azrieli Group agreed on tightening relations between their respective groups over further meetings, where a framework for collaboration would be formulated.
