Conference on Technology Management of Autonomous Systems at HIT

 
"Technology Management of Autonomous Systems" -The 4th Annual conference of the Technology Management Faculty in collaboration with Sinclair College, Ohio, USA took place at HIT.

The conference had two main lecture sessions:
Session 1: Unmanned Aerial Systems, UAVs
Dr. Andrew Shepherd, Director, Unmanned Aerial Systems at Sinclair College National UAS Training and Certification Center in Dayton, Ohio
Lecture: “Live, Virtual, Constructive: Enabling Complexity Through Integrated Technology”
Mr. Jeff Miller, Interim Vice President for Workforce Development at Sinclair College in Dayton, Ohio

Lecture: “Pathfinder Research: Applications of UAS”
Mr. Rami Efrati, Founder & President of FIRMITAS Cyber Solutions. Former Head of the Civilian Sector Division – Israel National Cyber Bureau – Prime Minister’s Office
Lecture: “Cyber in the Connected World”

Session 2: Autonomous Cars:

Prof. Eduard Yakubov, President of HIT said in his greeting speech that HIT has taken upon itself to prepare the next generation of scientists, engineers, designers, technology manages and instructional technology experts. It is equipped with both theoretical and applied research facilities as well as innovative labs and multidisciplinary centers. HIT's 13,000 graduates are integrated in top positions in Israel's industy. Prof. Yakubov had concluded his speech by quoting the late Mr. Shimon Peres, Israel's 9th president saying:" Peace, innovation and science must be our kingdom".

Prof. Arik Sadeh, Dean of the Faculty of Technology Management said that
The main motivation for this conference is the fast growing pace of technology, especially in the field of autonomous systems. HIT collaborates with various academic institutions in Israel and abroad as well as with the industry and is well known for its academic entrepreneurship.
 
Dimitry Patashov, from the Faculty of Sciences, who is in charge of joint projects with Sinclair Community College: "about a year ago HIT had signed a collaboration agreement with Sinclair College that will take place both in HIT and in the USA and that will include joint research as well as students and academic staff exchange programs. The participation of lecturers from Sinclair Community college in this conference today marks the actual beginning of this collaboration"
