Dr. Arriel Benis appointed at EFMI
EFMI (European Federation for Medical Informatics) is the leading organisation in Medical Informatics in Europe and represents 32 countries.
On April 23, 2018 the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI) council met in Gothenburg, Sweden. During this meeting, it has appointed Dr. Arriel Benis from the faculty of Technology Management and head of the SIAS lab (Smart, Intelligent and Adaptive Systems laboratory) as the chair of the Working Group (WG) "Healthcare Informatics for Inter-regional Cooperation" (HIIC) and EFMI Council member.
Dr. Benis holds a PhD in Medical Informatics focusing on Medical Information Systems and Knowledge Discovery (as Artificial Intelligence) and has a long experience in these fields both in academia and in industry.
At HIT - Holon Institute of Technology, in addition to his teaching and research activities, Arriel is deeply involved in efforts for developing academic international cooperation with European institutions in the fields of Medical Informatics and applied Artificial Intelligence.
In parallel, as the "Healthcare Informatics for Inter-regional cooperation" (HIIC) Working Group Chair, Dr. Benis will lead the expansion of current collaborations and the development of new ones between medical informatics actors from academia and industry in the 32 member countries of EFMI.
