Abstract:

We introduce several new types of networks and generalized metric spaces and study some important classes of topological vector spaces (in particular, the spaces C_c(X) and C_p(X) of continuous functions on X with the compact-open topology and the pointwise topology, respectively;

locally convex spaces with the weak topology) and topological groups which have a countable network of different types. In particular, new metrization criterions for topological groups and topological vector spaces with Baire-type properties are given.

We provide also some applications of the obtained results to the study of free locally convex spaces and the free (abelian) topological groups over Tychonoff spaces. Almost all results are completely new, and many of them have not even published yet.
