Holon Physics Seminar
Development of Volumetric Ultrasound Imaging By Laser Micromachining
Prof. Eliezer Avnear, LEEOAT
March 16, 2017 | 11:00 | Room 424/8
Abstract:
Volumetric (3D) ultrasound imaging is of high interest for medicine, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and other military/commercial applications.
Supported by several US agencies (NSF, NASA, Air-Force, Navy and NIH), we have developed operational ultrasound matrix transducers, which were based on laser micromachining of single crystals of Relaxor Ferroelectrics.
A volumetric ultrasound imager prototype was successfully developed, demonstrating good real-time ultrasound 3D images.
